Swim with Seals in Port Phillip Bay
Experience the thrill of swimming with Australian Fur Seals and other incredible marine life only found in this part of the world on our own private charter!
Cost: $140.00 or $160.00 inc. snorkeling gear
Experience Rundown:
* Meet your guide at the marina: A professional snorkel instructor will meet you at the designated meeting point 30 minutes before departure to hand out your snorkel gear and explain logistics. We normally meet at Queenscliff Marina car park. Please contact us if you will be needing transport from our dive shop in Altona. * Embarkation and departure: The captain and boat staff will assist our group in getting on board and will provide a safety briefing upon arrival. * Swim with Seals: We will visit two snorkel locations - normally Pope's Eye and Chinaman's Hat - where seeing Australian Fur Seals is very likely. Your snorkel guide will explain the best ways to have a fun and safe experience and will be with you in the water. We will spend approximately 45 minutes on each location, depending on weather and water conditions. Seals are wild animals, and therefore we cannot guarantee encounters. Approximated experience turnaround time - 3 hours. * Food, beverages and other belongings on board: A snack between snorkels is normally provided; however, we encourage you to bring a water bottle and your own snacks if you have any special dietary or food preferences. Seasickness prevention tablets are encouraged if you suffer from motion sickness or are not used to boat activities. * Requirements: Mask, snorkel, fins and a comfortable level of swimming/snorkelling is required to join this experience. Water temperatures in Port Phillip Bay range from 9-10° C in winter to 17- 20° C in summer months. We strongly recommend the use of wetsuits/thermal garments to stay warm and protect yourself from the sun. You will also be required to complete a medical declaration . No dramas, you can hire it from us for only $20 extra. This includes a quality mask, snorkel, fins and 7mm wetsuits suitable for Melbourne's temperate waters. Are you a certified freediver or scuba diver and want to use a weight belt? You can rent it from us for $10 extra. * Safety: Programs are subject to alteration or rescheduling based on weather conditions. We will contact you a few days before the experience to reconfirm program details. We will cancel the program if we deem the weather conditions are not safe for the program, in which case a refund / reschedule option will be offered. |
