Snorkel Diver Course - RAID

What’s This Course All About?

Keen to explore what’s under the surface but not quite ready for scuba diving? Our Snorkel Diver course is the perfect first step. It’s a relaxed, fun way to learn how to safely snorkel in water up to 3 metres deep. You’ll get a feel for the ocean, learn new skills, and see what diving is all about – no heavy gear required!

Who Can Join?

• You’ll need to be 10 years or older (under 18s need a parent or guardian to sign off).

• Before jumping in, we’ll just need you to complete a medical form and a few waivers. Super quick, super easy!

Course skills

We keep our groups small so you get the most out of your time in the water:

• In calm waters:

  • 1 instructor for every 8 students

• If the conditions are a bit rougher than usual, we’ll adjust group sizes to make sure everyone is looked after properly.

Depth Limits

Max depth is 3 metres, a perfect depth range to explore our local sites!

Your Instructors

You’ll be trained by a fully qualified RAID Instructor or Try Dive Instructor, and we’ll always have certified assistants when needed. You’re in good hands every step of the way.

What You’ll Need

You just need your basic snorkel gear:

• Mask

• Snorkel

• Fins

• Wetsuit or exposure suit to keep comfy

What’s Involved?

• Online learning: Easy-to-follow info and videos you can do at your own pace

• In-water sessions: At least 2 hours learning and practicing snorkelling skills

• Minimum required dives as outlined by the course

Get Certified!

Once you’ve ticked off the course requirements, you’ll earn your official RAID Snorkel Diver certification – a great achievement and an awesome first step into the underwater world.
